Insurance Information
Mend is not in-network with any insurance providers. At the end of your visit, we are happy to provide you with an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please call your insurance provider and ask if your plan covers acupuncture out-of-network and if they can reimburse you directly. You’ll also want to ask if any specific diagnoses, i.e., low back pain, are covered.
Medicare Patients: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) began covering acupuncture services for chronic lower back pain in January 2020. As of today, acupuncture services can only be billed by Medicare-recognized providers, MD, DO, ND, DC, and PT. It will take an act of Congress to allow doctors of acupuncture to bill Medicare for you. Here is the link to the current Acupuncture for Our Seniors bill, which we hope will pass.
Payment
Payment will be collected at the end of your appointment. You can pay by cash (please bring exact change), check, or all major credit cards. You are also welcome and encouraged to use your HSA or FSA card.
